WINNING PHOTOS PUBLISHED IN THE NOVEMBER 2012 ISSUE OF PHOTOGRAPHER’S FORUM MAGAZINE AND EXHIBITED AT BROOKS INSTITUTE GALLERY 27.

Enter our juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. The competition is international, open to all geographical locations.
The selected winner receives 10 prints up to 44x60 inches on museum quality paper (approximately a $2,500-$3,000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition in our main gallery. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artist.
Second place prizes: Ten second place winners will receive one print of their work up to 24x36 inches ($150-$200 in value) to be included in upcoming group exhibits. Second place winners will be scheduled into a group shows within twelve months of announcement of winners. Consideration is given to placing these works in shows appropriate to their style, genre and/or content. These shows will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists.
Special consideration will be given to all entrants for inclusion in future shows at LACDA. Many entrants from past competitions have been included in our exhibits.

The early registration deadline is Monday, March 19. And here’s an insider tip: you
don’t have to upload your images by Monday, just register for the contest. Join our international community of photographers and share your portraits with our distinguished judges—PDN’s Amber Terranova, gallery owner Andrew Smith, photographer Aline Smithson, and Workshops director Reid Callanan. The winning images will be featured on Aline Smithson’s Lenscratch blogzine (see below), and the prizes are great. The Grand Prize alone is worth over $5,000! We look forward to seeing how your PORTRAITS tell the stories of those around you.

Louise Clementsis the Artistic Director of QUAD, centre for contemporary art & film since 2002. As curator since 1998 Louise has initiated/curated many commissions and exhibitions of international contemporary art. She is also the Co-Founder and Artistic Director/Curator of FORMAT International Photography Festival Derby UK. FORMAT is one of the UKs leading photography festivals, biennial program in March, celebrates the wealth of practice in international photography.

The selected artists will be part of The Curator group show in New York City, summer 2012.
The opening reception, which is open to the gallery-going public, will be attended by top industry creatives and personalities, all coming together for music, cocktails, and to celebrate your work!
In addition, each chosen photographer will receive a two-page spread in PDN's July issue. PDN has expanded our distribution of 25,000 to include over 5,000 creatives! Winning work will be seen by industry photo editors, art directors and art buyers! An extended gallery will be archived on PDNOnline.com.
